February Meeting, Special Speaker

February 25, 2017 @ 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM PST

Author and JASNA member Dori Salerno will talk about how and why she came to write her novel, “Mrs. Bennet’s Sentiments,” which presents a different take on “Pride and Prejudice,” with Mrs. Bennet having a decidedly more pronounced (and even provocative) role. She will discuss how Jane Austen treats mothers in her novels, relationships between mothers and daughters, and Jane Austen’s mother. She will also tell us about her journey to getting her novel published.

We highly recommend that you read “Mrs. Bennet’s Sentiments” prior to this meeting. There are definitely some differences in character roles and plot twists from “Pride and Prejudice,” and we don’t want to spoil it for you! You can order the book on-line through Amazon or CreateSpace.
